Our team had the opportunity to fully restore this homes backyard after the completion of a new addition.
We transformed a post-construction site by installing proper drainage, landscape, and hardscape – ensuring it looked pristine and ready for move-in day.

NORTH BARRINGTON | RETAINING WALL
This custom home build located in North Barrington’s prestigious Wynstone community is receiving Gray Slate’s complete package including landscape, hardscape, drainage, lighting, and concrete flat work.
One of our recent highlights is the completion of the driveways retaining wall.
We worked with Lyons Design Group to design a structurally sound retaining wall with the appropriate backfill, block set-back, and drainage.

HAWTHORN WOODS | SHOULDER RESTORATION
What began as the installation of Unilock Turfstone quickly shifted into a simple shoulder restoration for this HOA after the City had a change of mind.
To prevent further edge ruts from cars pulling over on the shoulder, we placed a thick layer of base aggregate as support and finished off with a layer of clean topsoil with seed and hay blanket.

WONDER LAKE | PATIO INSTALLATION
We worked with a young family who had recently moved into their new construction home.
With young kids, having a backyard to host the neighborhood became a must.
Our team designed and installed this custom outdoor living space that includes a County paver patio, steel pergola, and a complete landscape package. With low-end, we decided to include a short retaining wall around the pergola area to prevent aggregate migration and possible base settling.

BARRINGTON HILLS | WET LAID THERMAL BLUESTONE
EDG, one of Chicago’s most premier design group welcomed our team to their custom build located in Barrington Hills.
Our crew was tasked with installing 3,000 sq. ft. of thermal bluestone in a wet-laid application.
With such a large area, we had to sort each stone individually by dimension to ensure we would preserve our symmetry for the herringbone pattern.
This site was one of the most beautiful sites we have been welcomed on.
PROJECT DETAILS
NORTHBROOK | RAISED PATIO INSTALLATION
Towards the end of fall, we began this multi-part project at a custom home build in Northbrook that will soon consist of a driveway, kitchen, landscape, and front entrance.
Our first task was to install the raised patio in the rear and complete vertical block work in preparation for masonry.
Over 80 tons of CA1. CA7. and CA16 limestone aggregate were brought in and compacted properly in lifts to avoid future settling. Our crew laid the patio in a 45 degree pattern for an additional design element.
